Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Dave.AI platform operated by Dave.AI Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales ("Dave.AI", "we", "us").

By creating an account or using the platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use Dave.AI.

These Terms form a legally binding contract between you (or your firm) and Dave.AI Ltd. If you are accepting on behalf of a firm or organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that entity.

The platform and what it does

Dave.AI provides AI-assisted tools for legal professionals, including contract drafting assistance, document review, and legal research. The platform is intended solely for use by qualified legal professionals or those working under the supervision of a qualified solicitor.

Accounts and eligibility

To use Dave.AI you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Be a legal professional or work within a legal firm
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Keep your login credentials secure and confidential

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@daveai.law if you suspect unauthorised access.

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate accounts at our discretion, including where we suspect misuse or a breach of these Terms.

Subscription and billing

Dave.AI is offered on a subscription basis. Your chosen plan and pricing are confirmed at sign-up. By subscribing you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected).

• Free trial: Where offered, a 14-day free trial is available to new accounts. Your card will not be charged until the trial ends. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
• Cancellation: You may cancel at any time via your account settings or by emailing support@daveai.law. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
• Refunds: Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law. If you cancel mid-period, you retain access until the period ends.
• Price changes: We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price changes. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Dave.AI to:

• Generate content intended to mislead courts, clients, or other parties
• Process or submit genuinely privileged client communications without appropriate safeguards
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the platform or its outputs for competing products
• Attempt to circumvent any security or access controls
• Share your account credentials with others outside your authorised user allocation
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any professional regulatory obligations

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately for breach of this section.

Intellectual property

Dave.AI Ltd owns all rights in the platform, including its design, software, branding, and underlying technology. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

You retain ownership of the content you input into the platform. By submitting content, you grant Dave.AI Ltd a limited licence to process it solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

AI-generated outputs produced using your inputs are provided for your use. You are responsible for ensuring any use of such outputs complies with applicable law and your professional obligations.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• We make no warranty that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI outputs will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose
• We are not responsible for any professional or regulatory consequences arising from your use of AI-generated content
• Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim
• We exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or special loss, loss of profits, or loss of data

Professional responsibility

Dave.AI is a tool to assist legal professionals — it does not replace professional judgement. You remain solely responsible for:

• Verifying the accuracy and legal correctness of all AI-generated output
• Compliance with your obligations under the SRA Standards and Regulations, the Legal Services Act 2007, and any other applicable professional rules
• Client confidentiality and data protection obligations when submitting any information to the platform

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Before commencing formal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at support@daveai.law so we can attempt to resolve any issue informally.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
